QUEENSRŸCHE: CHRIS DEGARMO Out Again?
April 27, 2003QUEENSRŸCHE appear to have once again parted ways with guitarist Chris DeGarmo.
"Due to scheduling conflicts, Chris DeGarmo will not be able to go on the QUEENSRŸCHE European tour as originally planned... but… The show must go on and it will be a great one!!!" drummer Scott Rockefield wrote on the band's official web site. "We have a great new record and a full-scale tour planned and hope to continue to work with Chris in the future. We hope to see all of you on tour this year!!!!! Keep well..."
It is not presently clear who will assume the second-guitarist duties during the band's upcoming tour, but speculation is that it will be Mike Stone (ex-KLOVER, CRAIG GOLDIE'S RITUAL, JONAS HANSSON BAND, CRISS),who performed with the group during their New Year's Eve headlining performance in Anchorage, Alaska. Stone stepped in as a temporary replacement for ex-guitarist Kelly Gray, who was dismissed from the band in late 2001.
QUEENSRŸCHE's new album, tentatively titled "Tribe", is due on July 1 through Sanctuary Records. The follow-up to 1999's "Q2K" is being engineered by Scott Olson, who has previously worked as the "full-time right hand" to Terry Date (producer for such bands as the DEFTONES, PANTERA and LIMP BIZKIT, among others) and is being mixed by Adam Kasper, whose previous credits include PEARL JAM and the FOO FIGHTERS. QUEENSRŸCHE will embark on a North American tour in July with DREAM THEATER and FATES WARNING.
